SAS Launches Exciting New Route to New York and Expands European Offerings

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is making waves in the aviation industry with some thrilling developments for the summer of 2025. Beginning on March 30, 2025, travelers can look forward to a new seasonal daily service connecting Oslo, Norway to New York’s JFK International Airport. This service will utilize the modern Airbus A321LR, featuring a versatile three-cabin layout comprised of 22 business class seats, 12 premium economy seats, and 123 economy seats. With flights running until October 25, 2025, jet setters can enjoy a comfortable and efficient transatlantic journey.

But that’s not all! SAS is also expanding its Copenhagen hub, adding routes to 14 new European destinations. Next summer, passengers can look forward to direct flights from Copenhagen to vibrant cities such as Lyon, Madrid, Seville, Valencia, Krakow, Bucharest, Budapest, and Milan Linate. This expansion emphasizes SAS’s commitment to enhancing travel opportunities within Europe, making it easier for passengers to explore some of the continent’s most beloved cities.

In a strategic move to improve international travel connections, SAS has partnered with Delta Air Lines in a new codeshare agreement effective from September 25. This partnership, which follows SAS’s official joining of the SkyTeam alliance on September 1, will significantly enhance connectivity for passengers flying between Scandinavia and North America. Travelers can now enjoy reciprocal codeshare benefits, which includes the added advantage of earning and redeeming Delta SkyMiles or SAS EuroBonus points across both airlines.

Paul Verhagen, SAS’s chief commercial officer, noted, “With our new direct route from Copenhagen to Seattle, we’re strengthening connections to the Pacific Northwest offering more travel options for our passengers.” This commitment to expanding hubs and connections underlines SAS’s dedication to providing a seamless travel experience for its passengers.

As SAS continues to grow its network and enhance its service offerings, travelers can look forward to a more connected and convenient travel experience across Europe and to North America. Whether you’re planning a summer getaway to New York or a city-hopping adventure through Europe, SAS is poised to make your journey both enjoyable and memorable. Stay tuned for more updates as SAS rolls out these exciting new routes!
